Cisco Issues Urgent Patches for Nine Flaws, Five Rated Maximum Severity
Cisco has published a new round of security patches for its Crosswork platforms and Secure Workload Software, part of an ongoing internal security review process. In total, nine vulnerabilities were addressed, and alarmingly, five of them received a CVSS severity score of 10.0 - the highest possible rating, indicating they could be exploited with severe impact and relative ease.
Four of the flaws affect Crosswork Data Gateway, Crosswork Network Controller, and Crosswork Planning, and are present regardless of how the devices are configured, meaning even standard deployments could be at risk. While these products are primarily used by larger telecommunications and network operators rather than typical small businesses, the scale of the vulnerabilities highlights how critical infrastructure software can carry serious risks if left unpatched.
Any organisation using Cisco Crosswork or Secure Workload products should treat this as a high-priority update. Vulnerabilities scoring 10.0 typically allow attackers significant control over affected systems, potentially without needing valid credentials, making rapid patching essential to prevent exploitation.
