Startup Xpander Secures $7.5M to Help Businesses Manage AI Agents Safely
Cybersecurity startup Xpander has raised $7.5 million in funding to develop technology for managing and governing AI agents used within businesses. As companies increasingly deploy AI agents to automate tasks, questions around how to control, monitor, and secure these tools are becoming more pressing.
Xpander's platform is built around what it calls a 'universal agent harness' — a system that runs AI agents as portable workloads and securely renders interfaces on demand. In simple terms, this means the platform aims to give organisations a consistent, secure way to run and manage AI agents across different systems, rather than each agent operating in an unmonitored or inconsistent manner.
While Xpander is aimed primarily at larger enterprises adopting AI at scale, the trend it addresses matters for small and medium businesses too. As more SMBs start using AI-powered tools and agents for customer service, data processing, or automation, having visibility and control over what those tools can access becomes an important security consideration, not just a convenience feature.
